When the snow was pretty
Found this while tidying my desktop. On the shortest day of the year the sun shone :)

All alone in the snow
Boxing Day walk up Redburn Country Park. Just caught the last of the snow before the rain came down :)

-6c and the water is still flowing
Standing in the freezing cold and couldn't get an angle to get this properly, this is the best I could do.
Hawick At Night
An old mill converted into a visitor centre, cinema and coffee shop. Have to say the coffee in the Beanscene really wasn't worth the 20 minute wait. Neither was the stale muffin :(

St Mary's, Hawick
Just round the corner from the mother in laws. Nice little church, tucked away in a side street of Kirkwynd.

River Slitrig
Had a great wee walk around Hawick today. Was freezing cold but we braced it and got a few bits and bobs and lunch. Took this on the way home, Impressed as its a handheld shot and didn't blur like I thought it would.
Silence is Golden
Another shot from Kagyu Samyé Ling Monastery and Tibetan Centre. As my son insisted that getting up at 7am to watch Cbeebies, I thought I'd take time in lightroom and created this.

Kagyu Samyé Ling Monastery and Tibetan Centre
After a long drive of 2hrs which should have been 30 minutes, I have to say I enjoyed our day out.
Really want to go back here in the better weather, I think the scenery would be even more breath taking.

Luss, Loch Lomond
This original shot is one I took not long after I got my Canon. I reworked it slightly but it's a place close to my heart.
5am walks with the dog, the calm water and the dog running like a nut along the beach.

Glasgow Cathedral at Radiance
A sight I will never forget, even if I was frozen and was sick twice with morning sickness, well evening sickness.

Cultra
I went chasing a December sunset today and it was too cloudy to get much. This was all I managed before the clouds took over.
Somewhere a Clock is Ticking
Taken in Glasgow during the Radiance festival of 2007. I've loads more so expect to see a few more of lit up Glasgow.
And the beat goes on
A seminary in Cardross, Scotland. St Peter's was somewhere I used to walk with the dog alot and I miss the crumbling walls and the feeling of the place.

Quivver
Glasgow at Sunset. The place I started with a camera and the place I'll be back in in a few days. I miss sunsets like this and the cool air off the water.
Sun Through the Graves - Glasgow Necropolis
This is my 2nd most viewed photo on flickr. I've always loved it. It was a cold cold morning when I took it and it was worth the hike.

The Doll on the Ball
A sculpture by a Scottish sculptor, Andy Scott. I love this sculpture but never seem to just catch her just right.

Donaghadee Lighthouse
Always a more dramatic scene when its dark and gloomy. The RNLI boat always seems to make the scene. Just remember to watch your footing as the cobbled harbour is a tad slippy.

Telescope Sunset
Ballyholme Beach in Bangor. Have to say there is nothing better than a summer night, sun going down and sitting on the swings watching in the cooling breeze :)

Necropolis, Glasgow
I love walking around this place. Another interesting place, I really must be a little morbid as I always find myself drawn to dead places :)

At the bottom of the graveyard
Taken in St Mary's Church of Ireland in Comber. I didn't realise this place had such an interesting graveyard at the back until my mother in law took Arran for a walk one day. I was fascinated with all the old graves and the stories on some of them. I really must wrap up warm and go back for another shot or two :)

Dunure Castle at Sunset
This is the shot that made me realise I wanted to get into photography more. It was one of my first shots and even though now I can see so many mistakes in it, I still like it :)

Ballydorn Light Boat
Well this is the said Light Boat. Tucked away at Mahee Island, about 15 minutes drive from my house.
Nendrum Monastic Site
Another little gem hidden in Down. So much to see from the sight as you can see the Ballydorn lighthouse boat, I'll dig out a shot of that next I think.

St John's Point Lighthouse, Killough
Being born and reared only 20 minutes from this wondrous lighthouse and it took a Scottish visitor to tell me it was there.
I have about 50 shots of this lighthouse and only about 2 of them I'm happy with, this being one of them. I really need to make another trip down there and this time try not to fall in the rock pools :)

Epcot - Walt Disney World
This seems to be one of my most popular shots on Flickr. I think it's as it's featured at www.zvents.com/lake-buena-vista-fl/venues/show/452735-epcot
With over 9,900 views it seems to be a hit. I took it on our trip to Florida in 2007. I really want to return but want to wait until Arran is old enough to enjoy all the roller coasters with us. I think the most annoying thing about this shot is the fact that I never got to see in the golf ball. It was closed for redecorating. I was not amused lol

.........and so it begins
Well this is my first blog post. I set this up for a few reasons. One of which being I wanted to record my favourite photos in some shape or form and this seems as good a place as any.
I'm not a professional and nor do I claim to be. I'm just a normal 33 year old mum of one. I found the photography bug purely by chance and I seem to have the eye for things I think would photograph well.
This shot was taken a five minute drive from my new home. A place called Islandhill. I find it an ever changing scene, depending on the tides and seasons it can be as dramatic as this.
I hope you like it x
